We all have a warm memory of a toy we played with as a child. “Happy” is a playful series that uses kids’ meal toys to evoke nostalgic memories in you. Perhaps you recall playing with one in the backseat of your family car or spending time on your bedroom floor. Or maybe you remember being glued to the TV each week, watching that show you loved. These prints are a great way to express your devotion to that memory or your fandom.

I search for these toys at flea markets and yard sales, give them a fresh coat of white paint, and photograph them against a vibrant backdrop. Then, I digitally paint them with a halftone effect reminiscent of comic book art.
